In a statement, Fieldguide said that the proceeds will enable the company to help audit and advisory practices “grow with agentic AI”.

Fieldguide co-founder and CEO Jin Chang said: “We built Fieldguide to support the people doing this work, and to solve a structural problem in the profession.

“This funding allows us to scale a proven model where agentic AI and human experts work together to increase capacity, elevate quality, and build a more sustainable future for audit and advisory.”

The company develops AI-native software for audit, advisory and assurance teams in regulated environments. It said Fieldguide’s AI agents can carry out high-volume and data-intensive tasks across the full life cycle of an engagement.

It further added that the company’s software is used by “half of the Top 100 US accounting firms”, and listed Baker Tilly, BDO, CBIZ, Forvis Mazars, Grant Thornton, KPMG and RSM US among its clients.

Goldman Sachs Alternatives Growth Equity vice-president Harris Pollack said: “The future of audit and advisory depends on how effectively firms combine human judgment with AI-driven execution.

“Fieldguide embeds AI and agentic workflows directly into how engagements are delivered – helping firms move faster while maintaining the standards that the profession depends on.

“This establishes a new foundation for how the audit and advisory industry will operate.”

With over $625bn in assets and more than 30 years of experience, Goldman Sachs invests in alternatives globally.

The business backs a broad mix of alternative asset classes, covering growth and private equity, hedge funds, infrastructure, private credit, real estate and sustainability-focused investments.
