A group of Thai companies including Marsun Public Company Limited have entered into a memorandum of understanding to advance large shipbuilding projects in Thailand, aiming for frigate construction to strengthen the national industrial security.

Under the MOU, Marsun Public Company Limited, the Thai Shipbuilding and Repairing Association and eight other shipbuilding companies in Thailand will work towards integrating the capabilities of Thailand’s private sector in advancing large-scale shipbuilding projects domestically.

The eight companies participating in the initiative include Asian Marine Services Public Company Limited, Marsun Public Company Limited, Seacrest Marine Company Limited, Unithai Shipyard and Engineering Limited, Thai International Dockyard Company Limited, Mariart (Thailand) Company Limited, Lantacruz Company Limited, and Prakarnkonlakarn Shipyard Company Limited.

Marsun said the initiative aims to support missions of the Royal Thai Navy and national security agencies while strengthening Thailand’s defense industry capabilities to meet international standards in a sustainable manner.

The collaboration aims to enhance the readiness of Thai enterprises to undertake complex large-scale shipbuilding projects within the country, covering key aspects such as technology, engineering, infrastructure, skilled workforce, and financial support.
