Thomas Scott Jensen takes the helm at Gatehouse Maritime
Gatehouse Maritime is set to operate as an independent maritime data technology company, with Thomas Scott Jensen appointed as CEO.

Gatehouse Maritime is set to operate as an independent maritime data technology company, with Thomas Scott Jensen appointed as chief executive officer. The move marks the next phase of development for the company’s maritime intelligence and data platforms, following the restructuring of the broader Gatehouse Group.

The spin-off comes in the wake of the sale of sister company Gatehouse Satcom to Cobham Satcom earlier this year, which prompted the group to reorganise its remaining operations. Gatehouse Maritime will now pursue a standalone strategy centred on its core data and software capabilities.

The company develops software and data services that support data-driven maritime operations, serving maritime authorities, offshore infrastructure operators and logistics companies across Europe and North America. It is headquartered in Denmark with a sales office in the United States and has been active in the market for more than 20 years.

As an independent entity, Gatehouse Maritime will sharpen its focus on maritime domain awareness, vessel tracking, offshore infrastructure monitoring and container supply chain visibility.

Its technologies combine AIS tracking, advanced analytics and intelligent anomaly detection, helping governments and organisations monitor maritime activity, identify risks and respond more swiftly to operational events.

The company’s capabilities are seeing growing demand as governments and infrastructure operators increase investment in the protection of subsea cables, offshore installations and national waters — assets that underpin global communications and energy systems.

Gatehouse Maritime also operates OceanIO, a data platform providing global container tracking intelligence used by logistics and supply chain technology companies. The platform aggregates and structures container event data from multiple sources, giving logistics systems greater visibility into global container movements and supply chain disruptions.

“Maritime data intelligence is becoming critical infrastructure in its own right — from protecting subsea cables and offshore energy to keeping global supply chains visible. As an independent company, we have the focus and the team to deliver on that opportunity and help our customers stay ahead of an increasingly complex maritime environment” said Thomas Scott Jensen, chief executive officer, Gatehouse Maritime.

Jensen brings more than 20 years of experience in technology and maritime-related industries. He previously served as chief executive officer of Gatehouse Satcom and holds an MSc in engineering from Aalborg University alongside a graduate diploma in business administration.

Kenney Schmidt Christiansen, who previously led Gatehouse Maritime, will remain involved with the company as a board member. He now serves as chief executive officer of Gatehouse Satcom under its new ownership.
