Yang Ming has added two Far East-Latin America services to its portfolio, securing slot arrangements with HMM and ONE to cover both coasts of South America, according to data from Alphaliner.

For its West Coast coverage, Yang Ming will hire space on the NWX/AX4 service, which has been extended to include a call at Yokohama. The East Coast operation will run via the FL2/SX2 string.

The West Coast service, marketed under the SA2/NW4/AX4 string and operated by HMM and ONE, follows a rotation of Shanghai, Ningbo, Qingdao, Busan, Ensenada, Lazaro Cardenas, Manzanillo (Mexico), Callao, Guayaquil and Yokohama, before returning to Shanghai.

The East Coast service, known as SSX/FL2/SX2 and also operated by HMM and ONE, covers a broader rotation spanning both South America and Southeast Asia. Ports of call include Busan, Shanghai, Shenzhen (Shekou), Singapore, Rio de Janeiro, Santos and Itapoá, before swinging back via Singapore, Ho Chi Minh (Cai Mep) and Haiphong, and returning to Busan.

The two additions mark a notable step in Yang Ming’s efforts to strengthen its presence in the Latin American trades, a region that has seen growing carrier interest in recent months.
