Neptune Pacific updates BAF levels across Pacific trades and U.S. West Coast

Neptune Pacific Direct Line has announced updated Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF) levels for its Pacific services and U.S. West Coast trade.

Pacific trades: mid-May update

For Neptune-operated services, new BAF levels will apply from 16 to 30 May 2026 across Australia, New Zealand, and South Pacific routes.

• Australia South Pacific Islands: USD 669/TEU
• New Zealand South Pacific Islands: USD 476/TEU
• Inter-island trades: USD 1,149/TEU

Reefer cargo will be charged at a coefficient of 1.5 times the dry container rate.

U.S. West Coast trade: June increase

From 1 June 2026, a revised BAF surcharge will apply to shipments between Australia, New Zealand, South Pacific Islands, and the USA West Coast.

• All directions: USD 1,064/TEU

An additional Emission Control Charge of USD 25/TEU will also apply on this trade.

Market context

The updates reflect ongoing fuel cost pressures affecting regional shipping services. Carriers continue to adjust bunker-related charges to align with fluctuating energy prices and operating costs.

Neptune Pacific said the revised surcharges will apply to all shipments within the specified trade lanes and effective periods.
