MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company has announced an Emergency Fuel Surcharge (EFS) for all cargo departing from the Mediterranean.

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company has announced an Emergency Fuel Surcharge (EFS) for all cargo departing from the Mediterranean (including West Mediterranean, Adriatic, East Mediterranean, Greece, and Turkey) and the Black Sea.

The surcharge is effective for all shipments with a Bill of Lading (BL) date starting March 16, 2026, and will remain in place until further notice. This measure targets trade lanes heading toward the Red Sea, East Africa, and the Indian Sub-Continent.

EFS Rate Schedule

The surcharge amounts vary by destination and container type:
