Red Sea Gateway Terminal appoints new Group CEO
Red Sea Gateway Terminal (RSGT) has appointed Lars Vang Christensen as Group Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 March 2026. He succeeds Jens O. Floe, who has led the company since 2016. Floe will continue his career as a Non-Executive Director and remain active in board roles representing RSGT shareholders.
Christensen brings more than 30 years of global leadership experience across the maritime, port, and logistics sectors. Most recently, he served as Regional Head of Joint Ventures and Strategic Partnerships at APM Terminals, where he managed strategic engagements across a global portfolio.
His career includes senior roles at Suez Canal Container Terminal, APM Terminals Callao, Epic Gas, and Herning Shipping. He has also held key industry positions, including Deputy Vice President of the International Chamber of Shipping and Chairman of Danish Shipping. He is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Executive Education program.
Christensen will now lead RSGT’s next phase of growth. He will focus on strategic expansion, international partnerships, and operational excellence.
“It is an honour to join RSGT at this stage,” said Christensen. “We will build on the strong foundation and continue expanding RSGT’s role in global trade and Saudi Arabia’s logistics sector.”
RSGT Chairman Aamer Alireza said Christensen’s experience will support the company’s growth agenda and strengthen its position as a leading terminal operator.
During Floe’s tenure, RSGT doubled capacity at Jeddah Islamic Port, entered international markets with a terminal in Bangladesh, and expanded its multi-purpose terminal business. The company also signed a term sheet with CMA CGM to develop a new 2.5 million TEU terminal in Jeddah.
RSGT thanked Jens O. Floe for his leadership and welcomed Christensen to lead the company’s next chapter.
