Quintauris and eSOL team up on RISC-V automotive software integration
Quintauris, a provider of RISC-V-based solutions, has teamed up with automotive and mobility software developer eSOL to improve software integration for automotive platforms built on the RISC-V architecture.
The partnership focuses on integrating eSOL’s “real-time” operating system technology with Quintauris’ RISC-V platforms.
RISC-V is an open-standard instruction set architecture (ISA) built on reduced instruction set computer (RISC) principles.
It enables companies to design, produce and commercialise chips without licensing fees or royalty payments.
Through the collaboration, eSOL’s “real-time” capabilities will be incorporated into Quintauris’ platforms to support next-generation automotive systems that require determinism, safety and efficient software portability.
The companies said the partnership is intended to speed up the availability of production-ready RISC-V solutions for the automotive sector, where demand for scalable and energy-efficient computing platforms continues to rise.
Quintauris market strategy officer Pedro Lopez Estepa said: “Collaborating with eSOL strengthens our commitment to deliver robust, “real-time” capable RISC-V platforms for the automotive market.

Combining eSOL’s “real-time” operating technology with Quintauris’ unified RISC-V software environment is expected to provide original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and Tier-1 suppliers with a consistent base for building automotive applications,
These include advanced driver assistance systems, vehicle control and zonal architectures.
The companies also aim to support interoperability, streamline software integration processes and offer a migration path for automotive developers seeking alternatives to proprietary architectures.

Founded in 2003, Quintauris is a joint venture between Bosch, Infineon, Nordic Semiconductor, NXP Semiconductors, Qualcomm and STMicroelectronics.
