Greek ports recorded a significant increase in cruise activity in 2025, with cruise ship arrivals rising 11.7% and passenger numbers up 6.2%, according to data from the Hellenic Ports Association (ELIME), based on reports from member ports.
The figures highlight the continued strength of Greece as a top Mediterranean cruise destination.
Cruise Ship Arrivals
In total, Greek ports welcomed 6,129 cruise ships in 2025, compared with 5,490 in 2024, marking an 11.7% increase. This growth underscores the expansion of cruise routes to Greek destinations and the nation’s sustained prominence in the Eastern Mediterranean cruise market.
Passenger Traffic
Passenger throughput also rose, reaching 8,415,713 in 2025, up from 7,927,709 in 2024, a 6.2% increase. ELIME noted that this trend reflects the ongoing preference of international cruise companies and travelers for Greek destinations, which combine rich cultural heritage, strong tourism appeal, and attractive maritime experiences.

Cruise traffic continues to concentrate at Greece’s most popular ports:
• Piraeus Port – 863 ships, 1,850,000 passengers
• Mykonos Port – 762 ships, 1,222,748 passengers
• Santorini Port – 728 ships, 1,203,052 passengers
• Corfu Port – 467 ships, 894,179 passengers
