BW LNG, part of BW Group, has confirmed the start of work for the second of two new liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessels with Norway’s state-owned energy giant Equinor.

Weeks after a naming ceremony was held for two LNG ships, BW Nivalis and BW Borealis, at the start of January 2026 at Hanwha Ocean’s Okpo Shipyard in South Korea, BW LNG announced the delivery of the second vessel from the Asian shipyard. The ship begun its long-term charter with Equinor on March 4, 2026.
