Cavotec has secured a €3 million contract to supply shore power systems for multiple ports in Southern Italy.

Advanced Shore Power Technologies

The order includes the deployment of Cavotec’s:

  • PowerFeed

  • PowerReach

  • PowerMove

These systems will enable cruise, container, and RoRo vessels to connect to shore-side electricity while docked.

Supporting Decarbonisation

By allowing ships to switch off onboard diesel generators at berth, the solutions will:

  • Reduce harmful emissions

  • Improve air quality in port areas

  • Support maritime decarbonisation goals

Growing Demand in the Mediterranean

According to CEO David Pagels, the deal highlights increasing demand for shore power solutions across the Mediterranean as ports work to meet stricter environmental regulations.

The project strengthens Cavotec’s position in the region while advancing cleaner port operations through electrification.
